This is a deadline to UG, PG, diploma and certificate programmes.

2. Who Can Apply? (Eligibility Criteria)
IGNOU has numerous programmes. There are minimum rules that you have to satisfy before being applied to each programme.
Undergraduate Programmes (UG)
- You must have passed 10+2 (Class 12) or equivalent from a recognised board.
- Most of the UG programmes have no upper age limit.
Postgraduate Programmes (PG)
- A Bachelor degree in a recognised university should be possessed by you.
- There are courses that can require graduation minimum marks.
Diploma and Certificate Programmes
- Most diploma courses have the prerequisite of 10+2 pass.
- Depending on the course certificate programmes can require 10 + 2 or Bachelor degree.
No Age Limit
Most of the IGNOU courses do not have an age restriction on admission.

3. How Much IGNOU Admission Fees 2026?
IGNOU asks for two kinds of fees:
a. Application or Registration Fee
- When filling the admission form, a one-time registration fee is imposed.
- Most courses cost a fee which is approximately 300 rupees.
This fee is paid online on the submission of an application.
b. Programme Fees (Course Fees)
Fees of the course are dependent on the programme. They vary according to UG, PG and others:
- UG Programmes: The cost also depends on the course and the year of study.
- PG Programmes: There is a variation in fees in every master programme.
- Diploma & Certificate: Usually lower than UG/PG fees.
Before paying the fee the admission form will clearly show the fees.
4. How to Apply for IGNOU Admission 2026?
IGNOU has simplified the admission procedures. These are the steps that you must follow:
- Visit the Official Portal: Go to the IGNOU admission website (e.g., Samarth portal).
- Register an Account: This option allows you to make an account with the use of your email and mobile number.
- Fill the Application Form: Enter your personal and educational details.
- Upload Documents: Upload photocopies of your certificates, photo and signature.
- Pay Fees: Pay the registration and programme fees online using UPI, net banking or card.
- Send the Form: Once all the details are checked send the form. This will come with a confirmation number.
After this is done, you are allowed to print the confirmation page in order to use it at a later date.
5. Can I Apply After the Last Date?
IGNOU occasionally permits late admissions with a late charge of a short duration past the official conclusion date.
As an example, IGNOU can permit late applications at a fee during a few days after March 30, 2026. This is however announced on the IGNOU site and is to be checked often.
Critical: Do not wait to get extensions.. Apply early to avoid issues.
6. Can Final Year Students Apply?
Yes. You can apply even in case you are in your final year of studies and awaiting your results.
But you have to post or submit your final marksheet when you have it so that you can complete your admission process.
7. What Happens After I Apply?

- The enrolment number can be received through email or on the portal.
- You will receive study materials (books) either by mail or via the internet depending on your preference.
