BLIS Distance Education Course Overview

BLIS Distance Course Duration & Eligibility

IGNOU provides a Distance Bachelor of Library and Information Science (BLIS) program, offering flexibility in its duration. The program can be completed within a minimum of 1 year, with the option to extend it to 2 years, providing adaptability to students’ varying schedules. 

To be eligible for the Distance BLIS program at IGNOU:

i) A Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks (45% for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PH categories).
OR
ii) A Bachelor’s degree along with a one-year Diploma in Library Science.
OR
iii) A Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of work experience in a Library or Information Centre.
